Our take
The Patriot Power Solar Generator 2200X pairs a large lithium iron phosphate battery with a strong surge rating and a complete kit, which suits households that want one box for refrigerator-level backup. It is expensive for its capacity, its single included panel recharges slowly, key details such as maximum solar input and warranty length are not on the product page, and the company's public customer feedback is mixed. Compare carefully before buying.
Good fit if you
- Want a ready-to-use kit with a panel included
- Need to start motor loads like a refrigerator
- Prefer LiFePO4 for long rated cycle life
- May want to add expansion batteries later
Look elsewhere if you
- Need fast solar recharging in a long outage
- Are shopping mainly on price per watt-hour
- Want full specs and warranty terms published upfront
- Need to carry the unit often (57.5 lb)

What 2,240 Wh means in an outage
Battery ratings describe stored energy, not what reaches your devices. After inverter losses, a reasonable planning estimate is about 85% of rated capacity, or roughly 1,900 Wh of usable AC power. These are our estimates, not test results:
- Refrigerator: a fridge that uses about 1.2 kWh per day would run for roughly a day and a half. 4Patriots states up to 75 hours for a full-size fridge, which assumes a more efficient refrigerator. Check your fridge's EnergyGuide label.
- CPAP: at about 40 W for 8 hours a night (320 Wh), roughly five to six nights, depending on humidifier use.
- Internet and phones: a 20 W router setup plus phone charging could run for several days.
Recharging is the bigger constraint in a long outage. In good sun, a 200 W panel often delivers well below its rating; a few hundred to several hundred watt-hours a day is a realistic expectation, so refilling an empty battery could take several days. Adding panels helps, but the product page does not state the maximum solar input. Try our backup power calculator to size your own needs.
Company reputation
On Trustpilot, 4Patriots had a TrustScore of 2.4 out of 5 from 542 reviews when we checked on October 11, 2026. Negative reviews commonly mention customer service delays, shipping problems, difficulty with returns or warranty claims, and units that underperformed or failed. Positive reviews mention helpful staff and specific products that worked well. Public review sites have limitations, but the pattern is worth weighing. We recommend confirming warranty length and return terms with 4Patriots in writing before you buy.
Alternatives to consider
The EcoFlow DELTA 2 Max is a similar-size LiFePO4 power station with a published 5-year warranty and much higher stated solar input. See our side-by-side comparison.
FAQ
Can the 2200X run a refrigerator?
On paper, yes. Its 2,200 W continuous and 4,400 W surge ratings cover most household refrigerators. Runtime depends on your fridge's daily energy use.
Can it be used indoors?
Battery power stations produce no exhaust, so they can generally be used indoors according to the manufacturer's instructions. Keep vents clear and the unit away from heat sources.
Is it a "generator"?
It is a battery power station. It stores energy rather than producing it, and it recharges from the wall, a vehicle, or solar panels.
Will you test it?
It is on our list. When we test it, this page will show measured results and a score, and we will note the change at the top.
